At that time it was extremely difficult to find tutus, pointe and demi-pointe shoes, bodysuits, uniforms and special tights; in actual fact there were only three or four specialist retailers in the country. By contrast, demand for these articles was growing due to the development and increased popularity of dance disciplines.

From the outset the Coppelia Store in Brescia stands out thanks to its dynamism and attention to market trends, to the choice of companies handled (some even imported exclusively) and the presentation of a line of shoes and clothing (bodysuits, wool accessories, tights) with its own brand that are specifically for the dance sector.

Soon the store in Rome, opened in 1998 in the centre, close to the Termini train station, in Piazza dell'Esquilino, proves to be the most representative business in the Italian dance industry.
